All of our classrooms have large windows which let in lots of natural light. We have used soothing natural colors and tones on the walls, floors and furniture to provide a nurturing and home-like feel.
Each learning area inside and outside of our preschool has been intentionally designed to engage the children’s interest and curiosity. As the children interact with the unique materials, and with each other, they become immersed in purposeful experiences that deepen their inquisitiveness and learning.
While you will see traditional learning centers in our classrooms like block building and home living/dramatic play, you will also see unusual items offered like light boxes, mirror tables, shadow curtains, stages, and studio areas. These less typical materials offer the children opportunities to investigate light, translucency and reflection. Your child will often have the delight of working with clay, watercolors, oil pastels, and many natural materials.
The classroom environments encourage role play with costumes and puppets on the stages to bring stories to life. Science centers provoke research about the properties of water, sand, magnetism, weight, measurement and more. Literacy skills are enhanced in our reading and writing centers, which are supported by our school’s library of over 2500 books and its over 200 audio books and wireless headsets for listening.

Our Atelier (art studio) presents opportunities for small groups of children to dig deeper in a laboratory-type setting where they may use its vast array of materials to construct their ideas. Our atelier has been used by the children to explore digital photography, electricity, color mixing, weaving and sewing, wire sculpture, drawing, painting, and much more.
We are proud to offer the Music Together curriculum for all of our Pre-k classes. Ms. Ruth Holladay is our music instructor who is on site two mornings a week. All children in our program have music at least once a week. Classes are held in the Music Studio, where children interact with a variety of musical instruments. They sing, dance, move, and learn about rhythm, beat, and scale. Music is inspiring and energizing and wiring our brains.
Our library is a special space for children to come with their teachers and find books about a particular interest that is forming in their class. Parents are also invited to come and check out a book with their child. It is also a nice place for relaxing!
